May 22 Wednesday around 6 a.m. Davao Mental Hospital(Davao Public Hospital) was razed down by fire and was under control after two hours.
The old historical building worth thousands was destroyed after fire gutted down.
The hospital was built in 1917 during World War 1, and become a Japanese garrisoned and served as a hospital of the US Army in 1945.
For so many years, planned was being discussed to set a much needed upgrading and face lift of this 96 years old Public Hospital which currently houses our Davao Mental Hospital.
We hope our LGU will produce a meaningful progress report of the development of this plan as soon as possible.
