What makes the international boxing event doubly exciting is that the ferocious fight will be seen in front of thousands of boxing fans in Davao City, the nearby cities and provinces and hundreds more who will plane in for the now famous Pinoy Pride XIX of the ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports.
Billed as Mexican Invasion WBO International Featherweight Championship Bautista vs. Ramirez, the big event is slated to be held next month on April 20, 2013 at the Usep Gym of downtown Davao City.
Aside from the title-fight main event, Davao and Mindanao fans will also have the chance to witness pure boxing thrill in three other international matches between the current Filipino OPBF flyweight champion Rocky "The Road Warrior" Fuentes vs. Juan "Loquito" Kantun also of Mexico and reigning WBC youth world super flyweight champion.
Also on the same top billing fight, we will witness what makes another ALA creation King Arthur Villanueva a champion who has not known defeat since winning twenty fights eleven of which came in stunning knockouts.
The reigning OPBF super flyweight champion has just knocked out nine straight opponents in his 2009-2011 fights.
This fight will be one of the most awaited since Villanueva will face a boxer of his own caliber the equally famous and also undefeated Marco Demecillo of the Wakee Salud Stable.
Demecillo, the reigning Philippine Super Flyweight champion, recorded more KOs at 14 of all his 18 won bouts including six straight in his last six fights. People will know by then who among the two tough Filipino fighters will remain standing with unbroken records as undefeated champions.
The credentials of Lorenzo "Thunderbolt" Villanueva are also fearsome with 21 knockouts in 23 fights and the highest 84 percent KO percentage. He will take the challenge against an Indonesian in Arief "The Ice" Blader, who is a former Indonesia Boxing Association Super Bantamweight champion.
Rey "Boom-Boom" Bautista said that in this fight, somebody will go down to the canvass as he promised to help reignite boxing in Mindanao, which is home to many talents waiting to be discovered.
The president and chief executive officer of ALA Boxing Promotions has recognized the existence of an abundance of boxing talents in Mindanao. It has also proven to be full of boxing enthusiasts owing to the top ratings ABS-CBN gets in viewership of the live television program Pinoy Pride in this part of the country.
In fact, Davao residents will also be thrilled with the return of their hometown heroes, who have been trained under ALA Promotions and raring to showcase their talents in the undercards.
ALA Promotions and ABS-CBN Sports have great confidence in the readiness of the Davao Region and Mindanao as one of the best staging grounds for an event to be shown live in cities with huge population of Filipinos such as the Middle East, Asia, Europe, Africa and the United Sates.
