When the President of the Philippines Benigno Aquino, signed the Republic Act 10360 last January 14, creating a new and the 81st Province of the Philippines and the 4th Province in Davao Region I said to myself this will be a new layer of corrupt, money-wasting idea of our Philippine politics.

A new province means a new dynasty, a new pork-barrel scam.



The province carved from the former 2nd District municipalities of Davao del Sur has an area of 2,183.97 sq.km. and the Provincial capital is Malita.

Davao Occidental has 5 municipalities and 105 barangays, the LGU's consist of the new province:

1. DON MARCELINO
2. JOSE ABAD SANTOS
3. MALITA
4. SANTA MARIA
5. SARANGANI

Looking at the provinces on the map you can see that they are placed in the southernmost municipality of Mindanao Island.  This is so easy to understand why people here had the yearning to accept a new province, the feeling of being left behind by the rest of Davao Region is really a big deal for them.

There's a need to have a plebiscite under RA 10360, as of today the Supreme Court gave a Green Light holding a plebiscite on Davao Occidental as the new province of Davao Region. 


Hope this will be properly addressed to all that if we stop the feud, whether there is a family dynasty, the bicker and the fight must be think over so that we can provide our people good governance and direction. We can all move on with our life and STOP having the stupid conversation and make DAVAO REGION as one!
