They say LIFE IS HERE in Davao, and we all agree - #Kadayawan day in our city is something pretty magic.
Magsaysay Park is alive with buzzing fruits, food, and people plunging into different scenery. Within the space is an exhibit of the Lumad and Moro people indigenous architecture replica houses, complete with accessories and other cultural materials, an idea as to the richness of the 11 tribes in Mindanao particularly in Davao. Taking advantage of the good weather and fresh air, the first day of the 33rd Kadayawan Festival begins with a lot of openings - from SUBANG SINUGDANAN and PANAGTAGPO to the PANANAM FOOD HALL opening at Magsaysay Park, there was lots to see. In the evening, the Talent Presentation of the HIYAS SA KADAYAWAN set the highlights of the event for day 1.
SUBANG SINUGDANAN (Tribal Fluvial Parade) and PANAGTAGPO (Tribal Convergence) a yearly reenactment on how the 11 tribes of Davao City make a living, where they traded or bartering goods in PADIAN or the market place in the earlier.
They presented cultural dances and music, living in harmony. And presenting each tribes Deputy Mayor with their Hiyas sa Kadayawan candidates.
This should be held at the Bankerohan river because it basically started there, this time the event was not focus in cruising but in the convergence of the 11 tribes, that is why there is a change of venue instead of the river they choose Magsaysay Park.

PANANAM FOOD HALL
After Pag-abli sa Kadayawan, PANANAM FOOD HALL was opened to the public. A showcase of the unique and delectable delicacies of the 11 tribes in the city. Food serve here are all HALAL (for our Moro Tribes).
This is still located inside Kadayawan Village, Magsaysay Park.

"Bigger, grander, with more events lined-up", said by Mayor Sara Duterte-Carpio. Expressing her gratitude to all the sponsors, especially to the private sectors partners and to all the Dabawenyos who took part in the celebration.
