2nd week of July MSME Week in Davao

The Davao City Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Center is the executive arm of the government-mandated SME Development Council (SMED) of Davao. It acts as a service marketing arm between the SME Service providers and the SMEs in Davao City

Operating under the day-to-day management of the prime business organization in Davao, the Davao City chamber of Commerce & Industries, Inc. (DCCCII), the SME Center provides various services to provide assistance for the development of the small and medium-scale enterprises in Davao City

DAVAO City Mayor Inday Sara Duterte declared the second week of July as Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise (MSME) Week celebration in Davao City through Proclamation No 6 Series of 2012 as concrete manifestations of its commitment to actively advance the concerns of MSME in Davao City.

Spearheaded by the Davao City Micro, Small and Medium Enterprise Development Council, several activities are lined-up for the MSME Week celebration slated for July 9 to 13 such as the MSME Week Exhibit at the Davao City Pasalubong Center and Abreeza Ayala Mall, Seminars and Trainings for MSMEs, Financing Forum, Food Safety Seminar in Public Markets, among others.

Other activities are Solid Waste Management Seminar by City Environment and National Resources Office (CENRO), Knowing Your Currency and Briefing on the Credit Surety Fund (CSF) by the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas (BSP), Financing Forum, Techno-Demo on Scented and Decorative Candle Making by DOST XI, Food Safety Seminars in Public Markets, Financial Management Seminar by DTI DCFO, Branding and IPO Seminar, How to Start a Business and Simple Bookkeeping Seminar, and Anti-Corruption & Integrity Initiatives Seminar by DCCCII.

At present, 30 producers are joining the Exhibits showcasing their products and services such as processed food, souvenir items, home decor, jewelry, miracle oil, skin care, beads and bags, etc.

Also, showcases of OTOP or One Town One Product, and the Davao Branding System will be displayed at the exhibit venues during the weeklong celebration.
