Davao City: BAN PLASTIC BAGS and Polystyrene Foam starting June 28, 2012!




This is it.  The long wait is finally over.  


As I read the news today about banning plastic bags and polystyrene foam  here in Davao City, I was overwhelmed.  The banning of plastic bags may not be the salvation of the environment, but it could be useful way to begin reducing waste pollution.  We all know how terrible plastic bags are for the environment - they choke wildlife, they don't break down in landfill and they aren't easy to recycle.  
Thanks to Section 7, Article V of the Ordinance 0361 series of 2010 or the Davao City Ecological Solid Waste Management Ordinance of 2009.
