TAGUM CITY, Davao del Norte, May 27 (PIA) -- Davao del Norte has teamed up with a TV news network to offer social services and other fun activities to people.
TV news network ABS-CBN and Davao del Norte are joining forces in staging the “Bida Kapamilya,” which features not only TV personalities but also social services given “as a way of thanking” their viewers.
Assistant Provincial Administrator Romulo Tagalo said governor Rodolfo del Rosario received the partnership of ABS-CBN in rolling out the Bida Kapamilya as this runs in line with his convergence program and delivered to the barangays in the province.
“This also runs in line with the thrust of the governor on public, private partnership,” he said in an interview.
The provincial government opens the Provincial Capitol for the staging of the Bida Kapamilya show which will be held later this afternoon.
It opens its Bulwagan ng Lalawigan for the job fair and its Girls Scout of the Philippines (GSP) Hall for the medical service.
The provincial government organized the Bida Kapamilya Job Fair participated in by 17 local companies with 919 job vacancies and 13 overseas companies which bring 8,720 job opportunities abroad.
It also deploys doctors, nurses, support staff to accommodate about 500 beneficiaries of the medical mission while the ABS-CBN provides the supply of medicines and vitamins. Dr. Agapito Hornido of the Provincial Health Office (PHO) spearheads the medical service team of the provincial government.
Mostly coming from Tagum City, beneficiaries of the medical service find the activity an opportune time to get free medical check-ups.
Also hitched to the Bida Kapamilya is the legal services that the provincial government organizes in tie up with legal officers from various national line agencies of the government.
Spearheaded by Provincial Legal Officer Edd Mark Wakan, the Bida Kapamilya Legal Service is participated in by Tagum City Prosecutor Noel Palma; Atty. Gemma G. Betonio and Atty. Jose Charlito Cortez II of the Public Attorney’s Office; Atty. Gerald B. Racho and Atty. Eva Lorraine Estabillo from the Integrated Bar of the Philippines; Atty Joselito A. Pingoy and Eduardo Dinglas Jr of the Department of Agrarian Reform; and Atty. John Paul Devilleres of the Register of Deeds.
The Bida Kapamilya outreach activity includes storytelling sessions with Kapamilya Davao Region personalities; bags containing playing materials and children’s magazine will also be given away.(RGA/JDA-PIA 11)
